Bridal shower game No. 16 · Free

The Grand Bridal Dash

Tap fast. Run to the bridesmaids.

The big screen mid-race: a dozen pixel brides running across pink hills toward four bridesmaids at the finish line.

How to play

Three steps
  1. 1

The host opens the game and every phone gets a RUN button. Each guest sees her own bride on the big screen, named and in her own colour.

  2. 2

Three, two, one, GO. Everyone mashes the button. Every tap is a step toward the bridesmaids at the finish line.

  3. 3

First across takes three points, second two, third one. The heat ends on its own a few seconds after the winner, then the next heat lines everyone up again.

Hosting tips

From real showers
  • Play it when the room needs waking up, or right before the cake. It takes five minutes and everyone stands up.
  • Two thumbs are allowed. Long nails are a genuine handicap; let the room argue about it.
  • The bride runs in white with a tiara. If she wins a heat, the room will tell you it was rigged. It was not.

Questions

Answered
How many people can race at once?

Up to about thirty on one screen. Eight to twenty-five is the sweet spot; the big screen spreads the runners across the meadow so every bride stays visible.

Does the bride play?

Yes. There is nothing to guess, so she runs like everyone else, in the white dress, and scores like everyone else.

Is it fair on slow phones?

Yes. The race counts taps, not reaction time, so a moment of lag never costs anyone a step. Each phone is capped at a sensible tapping speed so nobody can win with a script.
